Twhirl and Growl
I am a recent convert to Twhirl. It is my new favorite Twitter client. I formally used Twitterific. Twitterific is a great client still in my opinion, but the ads were a bit distracting and I didn't want to pay the $15 dollars for the full version (Okay, so I may be a little cheap, but I can't see a reason to pay for something when there are free alternatives.) The only feature I see Twhirl missing is Growl. I asked @twhirl (on twitter) if supporting Growl was planned to be supported. As of now, its not and doesn't look like it is going to be anytime soon.
I believe the lack of support is a limitation of Adobe Air rather then Twhirl. Air tries to be multi compatible with different operating systems while Growl is a OSX only application. Hopefully some day Twhirl will offer support for Growl. Its not a ruiner for me personally, It has its own notification system that doesn't interfere with Growl. It would just be nice to have one notification system running since all other applications I use have support for Growl (where necessary).
Twitter, My Inspiration
Before using Twitter, I never had very little ambition to create/update a blog. Since I began using Twitter, it has inspired me to start writing a blog that will help recap my daily events and highlights in more then a short 140 characters.
After first signing up for Twitter, I asked myself "Why am I doing this?" I couldn't really come up with an answer to that question. The first few days of using Twitter were quite boring, I was following only about 5 people and no one was following me. Besides for the fact that I couldn't see any logical reason to answer the question "What are you doing?," It also seemed as if I was talking to my self and I couldn't understand why anyone would care what I was doing.
I decided that I would start using Twitter for the purpose of making a daily recap of the important events and highlights that happened during the day. Since that point I have made a few hundred tweets and gained more friends and followers. Its very apparent that now Twitter is not just about "Why are you doing?." My answer to my original question of "Why?" is "just because I can..." I don't think any more explanation is needed. One thing that Twitter has given me is more inspiration to start a blog, which I am currently using to type this!

Hot Temperatures
Today was an interesting today. It hit over 100F here. My High School was literally an oven today outside of the air conditioned rooms (which I am lucky enough to be in 90% of the day). The school closed two hours earlier then usual. It is also rumored that we will be having half days for the remainder of the school year, Friday. If it is true, that it really a great way to go out senior year. Hopefully the weather cools down before Saturday, my graduation day! Its going to be a hot one wearing my dark red cap/gown with dark dress clothes under it.
Hi.
Welcome to my new Blog. It is powered by WordPress with a side of Hemmingway. The main use for this blog will be to combine the mini services I use such as Flickr, Twitter, Jaiku, and Seesmic into one location for easy viewing. I also plan to update the blog once in a while with some mindless blabber. Chances are if you stumbled across this link, it was purely by mistake.
This is my second official attempt at starting a blog. The first blog was hastily thrown together. Little planning was involved, It was doomed from the beginning. I have put more thought into this blog and I believe this one will be much more successful then the last
